Monday music: "By the Time I Get to Phoenix"

Although this song is far from the best of Jimmy Webb's compositions, it was certainly one of his greatest commercial successes.  Most people are only familiar with Glen Campbell's recording, which was, in my humble opinion, not a milestone in the history of popular music.  Neither is this rendition: but it's Monday, and a "Monday music" post should be fun.  This dramatic, lushly orchestrated, extensively narrated version of the ballad, by Isaac Hayes, is nothing if not fun. (Needless to say, Hayes arranged and conducted the entire recording himself.)  I hope you enjoy it!
